SlingRider Baby Slings are being recalled due to a suffocation risk...

Wednesday, over 1 million Infantino baby slings were recalled, and three infant deaths have been linked to the baby slings. Infantino "SlingRider" and "Wendy Bellissimo" are the recalled models.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said babies may suffocate in the slings. The sling allows the parent to carry the baby around the chest. Parents have been urged to immediately stop using the baby slings if the baby is under 4 months old, or have breathing problems or a low birth weight. These babies are of particular risk.

Did you guys, especially new Mommies or Mommies2Be read about the news?  About the above subject? Scary isn't it?

Ever since i gave birth to Adly, i could see that these kinda sling are very popular.  But frankly speaking, I am paranoid putting my babies in that kinda sling cos i will always have the feeling; could he breathe okay in there? I was also simultaneously worried he was about to slide out.

This is my personal view & personal choice - From the start, Baby Bjorn is always my choice which strap my baby in an upright position right to my chest. By using Baby Bjorn, i felt my baby is sooooo near to me.  Especially when they are pressed against my chest which can allow them to hear my heart beating.... Furthermore, your baby's head is right under your chin where you can kiss your baby hands free!  Yes, it may be costly but i never regret having it as one of my baby collection.

And this is from my personal point of view - If you do a lot of read up, you should know that certain-certain age, baby can be placed in sling.  And certain-certain age, baby can be placed in a stroller.  And thru observation, i realised that parents nowadays are so "kiasu" (sorry eh, sorry eh.... this is thru observation).  Baby haven reach that certain age, they started putting in a Bumbo - to them its CUTE!  Baby haven reach that certain age, they started to put in a stroller (which is meant to be for toddler) - to them its lite and easy to be carried around.  Baby haven reach certain age, they started to put them in the walker - to them, they cant wait for their jewel to start walking.

Sigggghhhhh....  don't you know how important the baby spine is???????  What if the baby's spine is not ready for them to "be put on these trial by his/her kiasu parent?".  The one suffer is your baby sei!  What if these trial could lead to some kinda physical disability?  Who suffer?  Your baby sei!!!!

So parents, some things may look nice, stylo, trendy, "in thing" to you but always read up and choose the best for your babies.... jangan members gua ada ni, gua pun nak ada ni.  Camni nyer pikiran, gua rasa tak rugged lah babe......
