NaiK HaliGeR - R ouR cOupLeS wiLLinG 2 PaY 4 iT????

Will the photo montage shown at the next wedding celebration you attend will be accompanied by popular loves songs?  Perhaps not, if the newlyweds decide against paying for the use of the music.

Their message: Pay for copyrighted work or use royalty-free music.  Otherwise, face criminal or civil action.

Last Monday, Abg Le attended a two hours session of educational talk for wedding photographers and videographers regards to copyrighted music at wedding.  Phuhhhhh...

Wat i could say, majority yang affected will be the freelancers.  Cos if the license fees are too steep, they have no choice but to increase the charges between $200 to $400 more.  And the question now, are our couples willing to pay for it????

To me personally, in a wedding, every service providers play a big part but for now, let us just concentrate on photographer & videographer since this topic is more hot about copyrighted music.

Ok, now try to visualise... a wedding wif a garden theme, all purfect, beautifully organised, with great companies attending it, full of laughters, tears of happiness, nice music background.  Photographer went CliCk CliCk CLiCk BUT there wasnt any video to capture of the movements, the actions...

If your answer is, "Alah, photography kan dah cukup.  They oso capture EVERY moments."

Yes, memang betol cakap awak TETAPI, photography hanya boleh capture the STILL moments while videography captures the MOVEMENTS.  Takkan nengok video TANPA MUSIC BACKGROUND.  Cam kelakar kan?  Macam takde feel gitu kan.... Kalau nak suruh abang sedara amik kan memang boleh tapi the output tak segereks and bulu roma takkan meremang macam pro-pro amik...

Ok back to our topic, since MPS (Music Publisher SIngapore) has not finalise the cost of its license, i wanna ask a soalan cepu emas........ jeng jeng jeng

Lets say current videography charges between $600 to about $4k.  Should the price were to steep up to an additional $200 to $400, are you guys willing to pay???
