Recently, I believe you guys read news about employers being jailed for maid abusing... maid kena jailed for ill treating employer... maid kena killed for triangular love with Abang Bangla... eiiii seram kan?
More seram when we read news about maids being locked up in the toilet. Maid being forced to eat chillies... maid kena rotan... maid kena made stand on 1 foot... maid kena pressed by iron - ada yg kena hentam by iron... maid kena beaten by broom...
Shake head.... SiGh... shake head....
Why Maid Abused? Is it due to employer who tends to get so stress wif maid when instructions were not followed accordingly therefore when their blood boils, employer tends to let go the "blow" and in end been charged for abusing. Remember the employers who pulled the maids teeth, isn't it siow?
Why Maid Abuse? Is it due to maid stress wif employer who tends to take advantage of maid and treat them like a "dog". Work straight 16hours wif no rest... Remember the maid who peed in the employers drink? Why u did that my dear gal?
And cases where maids are given freedom during weekend and they tends to take advantage of it by meeting love and make love. Is there a message they are trying to send, saying that they are "lonely"?
I am very very concern on wats happening. Wat can we do to stop all these...?
Sometimes when i read news about maid being abused, i asked myself, how can i protect them from being bullied... How can we make sure that both employers & maids have a good relationship?
Maybe can the newspaper write something more nice stories, or i should say, more INSPIRATIONAL stories about nice relationship between Maids & Employers.... on how GOOD TERMS the maid & employer can be.
P/S: And i swear, sometimes i do ask myself "where are you Bibik Saliyah?" I hope you are safe and if you're back Wonosobo, may Allah smiles upon you and your family.............
Employ one... U probably know why the abuse! Worst now the maid agency in order to earn extra cash they recycle transfer maid. Example if this maid A has been with employer 1 and 2... N both employers face the same prob n return maid A to the agency... Will the agency return her to home country? Nope they will just send her to more employers...
ReplyDeleteRecent case a mth back... My cousin's maid expose herself to my cousin's dad whose wife died less than a yr n demanded money from him n she will do whatever he wants. He shooed her away n she got scared she called the police n said all kind of nonsense. My cousin is a housewife and is always at home... She managed to clear her dad's name. Now waiting for another maid. She is giving birth soon n this is making her so stress. She ve not even get over her mum's death n so worried abt who to take care her toddler aft she gave birth. Sometimes don't know what they want... U treat them nice they step on ur head. U give them freedom they get bf. Worst if they tried to get funny with the male member in ur house. Remember the news abt a maid who had sex with her sec sch employer son. The list goes on... But just face it... They came in poor country n could probably cannot even afford meat in their daily diet.. Maybe that's why when they see what we have they became out of their mind.
Another sad story... hhhmm. Like i've said, apsal citer yang sedih jer yang dikemukakan? Takde ke citer yang lebih bernas, lebih inspirational? Yang boleh dijadikan tauladan buat maid2 yang low EQ ni so that they can slowly n progressively change for the better. Jus like reverse pyschology gitu...

ReplyDeletememang betul ader maid nie stress, satu dia lembab & also simply cannot understand what we want. nak kena bilang baru buat.
for the maid, perhaps dia penat & feel we never care about them sebab tu such action taken.
so can anyone share your good experience & how i can make it better relationship with the current maid.
so far i have never beat her or touch her. like what i tell her everyday. i have never touch or beat you whenever i am pissed/mad/angry. i merely scold or highlight to you. so you can never touch/beat my kids. i respect her as that cos i believe she is not my darah daging & i dun have the every right to touch her. same goes to her.
i have seen so many maids in my tour of duty.. everyday almost.. i talked to them often and have not yet seen any of them unhappy or even mistreated. i guess we have always and only hear and remember the bad things as humans. Tak org tak kita, kita makan nasi mereka pun makan nasi.. i guess its simple.. masing - masing lah how you handle. But yes of course things may not turn out to be what we always wanted. Just too bad.

ReplyDeleteat times i sit down and ponder, kenapa? Why tis things happen? At work, u want the best from your boss and i believe maids do need it from u too. Bila boss korang garang, u give them names, sama jugak ngan maid, they oso dalam diam calls u "names"... Sometimes at work, you laze around to finish up certain assignments given, same like ur maid, kekadang pun datang kemalasan dia jugak, apa orang kata - mood swing, Monday Bluez? Kekadang bila maid slacks skit bila time contract nak abis, korang lable dia "naik tocang" tapi tak ke korang pikiaq, korang pun dua kali dol, bila nak on leave panjang korang pun sama, holiday mood...
Wats goes round, comes round.......
Nyah, i have seen a few maids who have good relationship with employers.
ReplyDeleteFor ur 3rd sentences, yes i agree sungguh2. Imagine, ko yang tak kerja, satu hari suntuk habiskan masa jaga anak, kemas rumah and bla bla bla, i believe korang oso penat and then bila nak relax skit, majikan label pemalas ler, slow ler...
I tink kalau maid tu sumer clever, dorang tak nak jadik maid tau. Maybe majistret ker, lawyer ker, hihihi.... dah ler dorang tu bengap, kena maki hamun makin bengap aku rasa, LOL...
