NeeD yOuR OpiNioN...

Ok people... need ur genuine opinion. 

The scenario goes like this... I bought a "BASIC" phone for my eldest son (Pri3) last January.  Reason for buying was for him to text and call me when he reaches tuition centre, text and call me when he leaves school on every Tuesday & Friday due to his CCA.  The $8 value of top up card which i bought together with the phone in January came to a zero value only last Saturday. 

Those who are my faithful blog follower will know that Izz school is far away from our home and thats the reason why i bought him a phone cos i am slowly training him to be independent. 

Ok, lets talk abt the phone which i have bought - Samsung SGH-C170.  Its a good phone, very slim wor jus like the owner who is so "sekeping".  But the not so good point is:

  1. There is no hole to to attach a landyard for him to sling it over his neck nor there is no where we can clip an elastic band string clipper from his pocket to his trousers waistband.  So when he brought it to school, he hafta put it in his school bag.  And whenever i called, there will always be 8 to 9 missed call - wifout fail.  Cos its on vibrate mode.  Puas hati buang jer kan??? LOL
  2. And the ringtone is very basic, not the fancyfull like ours where we uses top hitz song as our ringtone.  And when ppl call him or text him, we didnt even notice cos the sound was so FLAT and very un-attractive.  Hahahaha...

Recently, I have in mind to upgrade a new handphone for him.  Not the latest one of course but maybe 1 more step higher than the current one.  Something which have Camera & Video function, at least he will stop using our handphones to video tape his dancing skills and science experiments.

So people......

Should i buy a new non contract Nokia phone with camera/video function (abt $90) and still use his current Prepaid Card

OR

Should i grab a Starhub Student Plan ($25.68 p/mth) that comes wif a brand new phone for Izz?

Cos personally, i tink all of you will agree with me which is to go with my 1st idea since that $8 card value allows him to use for 3 months. 

And wat will happen to the old phone?  Should i sell it?  Or pass to Tok Gani to use it? But he seldoms go out lei.... hhhmmmm opinion please!!!

    Why do u need to waste money on a mobile? Ma bro is in Pri 3 too and i bought for him an LG fone.. just basic fone for him to carry anywhere..for kids usage tak yah nak fancy2..nnt dia da besar sikit dlm sec 1 den u nk upgrade den ok..

    Bukan ler nak fancy sampai ke iphone, ke E71. I just need a phone which ada "lobang" to insert the landyard so he can hang around his neck and not leaving the phone in the bag and kalau berbunyik, tak dianswer... by the time dia realised, i dah lupa apa i nak bilang dia...

    That time beli, tak teringat pasal ni sumer.

    ahhh..mayb u cud chage to LG fone..the fone pun cute jgk suitable la untuk bdk2 mcm anak u and ma bro..ada lobang for tying the straps..but again all up to u dear..

    Tu ler dia. Adoi!!! When i 1st chosed the SGH phone, it was becos, its slim & bleh masuk kocek. Skali dah pakai a few weeks, my son cakap, "Ibu, hp abang tak leh letak landyardeh? Nanti masuk kocek slip out camner?" And when i heard that terus kwang kwang kwang.......... tak sangka ibu nyer sebenarnya ba-wau-dal-wau-ha!

    Sis... i think option 1 (nokia $90) sound good!! As long this phone ada hole for landyard, good ringing tone & vibration... plus ada camera/video function for him to use for his project lor.... all ni yg he perlukan pe?

    Old phone taruk kat ebay lah... hehe

    U now wat? Skola dia memang tak halang students bawak HP but dorang tak galakkan menunjuk-nunjuk...Mula2 memang seram nak belikan HP sebab tahu ler budak2 ni, hilang lah, tu lah, ni lah. Skali bila me gi skola dorang for some parents gathering, mak aiiiiiii.... kawan2 skola sumer pakai lagik yg canggih-canggih!!! Nokia Music Xpress lah, SE Cybershot lah... *pengsan*

    And 1 reason kenapa nak beli yg ada camera/video function, so that any occasion kat skool he don have to bring my camera... nanti jatuh camera gue, ibu plak yang gigit jari nyah!

    tak lah macam tu mayb tak terpikir..but untuk kids yg simple yet convenient da cukup baik sis.. mayb u cud have a look out or sumthin new..$90 pun money jugak sis..

    Hi Momma Zue,

    Maybe u can change the casing with hold of your current hp dat can put the landyard, usually those 2nd hand mobile shop ada maybe can check it out.

    Zue, aku rasa jangan tukar HP yang ada camera ni semua sebab nanti menghayalkan. The main reason to get IZ the HP is for the both of you to communicate. If you think he needs a better phone, ask him earn it himself macam pakai duit raya dia ke, dia menabung ke, etc. That's my opinion.

    Norm, ku rasa ku tunggu ujung tahun. See his result... kalau tak memuaskan, i tink let him bear with the hp till he show improvement. Amciam kata? Ok tak? Tapi ku tetap ngan Idea ku yang 1st tu ah...

    HP yg sekarang tu asyik vibrate aja kan? Pun susah juga. Kalau kau beli HP baru, beli yang kat 7/11 tu bagus nyah. Murah dan boleh berdering. Idea kau memang baik!

    Yg hp skarang ni, ku beli kat Shell. Ada bunyik tapi takkan kat dalam klass nak ada sound, mampui kena confiscate nyah! Tu ari dia cakap kat aku, ibu belikan hp iphone China punyer lah. LOL.... KUAT dan BLEH PEKAK!!!
