To lots of people'z eyes, pregos are like a dust, floating around cos they had "extra air" in their bloated tummy. To lotz of people'z eyes, pregos are also like a "pest", expecially when they stepped into the MRT.
I realised, whenever a pregos stepped into the cabin or bus, ppl will "automatically" act blur... or they will suddenly have the urge to fall asleep and bla bla bla. Frankly speaking, its kinda hurting when people have tis kinda mentality. Well, I'm saying tis from my own experience and thats the reason why i beg hubby to let me sit on his bike and send me to/fro work, everyday till full term!!! Reason being, i don wanna be treated like a "sampah" in the eye of people. If i have no choixe to take MRT home, i will spend extra 5 minutes to travel up to Marina Bay, get myself an empty seat and travel home comfortably wifout hurting people's eyes...
People's perception of us is, "seat beggars"... but the truth is, we are not begging or desperado for seats but it will be nice to be offered a seat. Jus imagine a prego having to stand from City Hall till Woodlands... its such a torture!!! With the extra weight @ the belly, plus if the driver drives the cabin in a chaotic manners, isnt it a double torturing????
Take tonite for an instance. I came in from Dhoby Ghaut after my nite class. Cabin wasnt that pack and as usual, i will stand nearest to an available pole. There's a group of youngsters sitting down, chatting and laffing. The moment they realised my existance, they jus act blur blur... one of them can even say,"eh cute sei tummy dia..." Uuiii, cute eh?? And due to the cuteness of my tummy, i had to stand till Admiralty...
Its ok, enjoy babes... wait till ur turn to be a prego then you will feel how we felt and treated.
P/S: I ever EVEN offered my seat to another prego cos her's was HUGE... i can feel the weight immediately and when she saw my tummy, she said "eh you also pregnant mah..." while others around us, jus smile @ both of us. Smile only??? Hhmmmm ChampiOnzzzzzzzz!!!
ah, i experience da same thing too wen i was pregnant. da best part was oso wen sumone gave up seat for me, sum peeps can juz rush over and sit...lagi super duper championz........
